BHARTIYA SHIKSHA PARISHAD U.P.
Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad U.P. was established under the guidance of law
experts, eminent educationists and social workers for the development of
education in wide areas as per provisions of the Constitution of India.
Government of Uttar Pradesh, registered the Parishad for propagation and
development of distance education on the pattern of Open & Distance
Education System on 24 September 1984, vide file No. 7231 (M) and
registration No. 821. A building of Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad U.P is under construction in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow on 25 Acr
The Parishad, under Government of India Act 21-1860, is Legal and Voluntary Institution and has legal right of teaching &
training under the provision of constitution. Copies of Bylaws, prospectus, etc. are sent to the various Authorities and
Departments of the Government of India/State Governments and Union Territories by the Parishad from time to time.
The area of operation of the Parishad is wide and extensive all over India. Centres of examination are situated in almost
all-major cities of India where annual examinations are normally organized every year in May/June & December. Parishad is
planning to open study and examination centres for foreigners and non-resident Indians in various parts of the world.
AIMS OF THE PARISHAD
By adopting Open & Distance Education System, Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad took a leading step towards democratism of higher
education. This novel lead will cater to the needs of those students who are interested in higher education but are unable to
join colleges and universities for lack of resources and time. This also imparts education to down trodden & backward at
concessional fee. Parishad also fulfils the aims of vocational & educational right of Indian constitution 950 under Article 14, 15,
19, 21, 26, 29, 30, & 351.
Bhartiya Shiksha Parishad Uttar Pradesh is a non-commercial voluntary social educational institution with the aims of
expansion and promotion of education, publication of scare, unique and newly written literature, pay honour and due
promotion to the educationists. These may be enumerated as below:
# To Democratise higher education by providing it to the students at their doorstep.
# To provide higher education to one and all, irrespective of age /sex/caste/territory.
# To provide job-oriented and professional education.
# To promote and popularise education under Open & Distance Education system on the pattern of other countries.
# The option to select choice subjects and imbibe more education at lesser cost.
The Parishad has adopted multi-media educational system. This consists of: -
# Printed course material for self-study.
# Audio and Videocassettes and Internet where possible.
# Facility for practicals & personal contact programme with educational consultants through study centres.
# Assignments and student support services.
# Evaluation of lesson by faculty experts.
The syllabus of the Parishad is similar to those of the various Indian Universities. Study materials are specially prepared as per
the traditional Universities of the country as well as Parishad's own Experts Committee and edited by the subject specialist
concerned. The audio-visual cassettes provided to the students are prepared under the guidance and supervision of syllabus
writers and University Faculty members and producers. Before these materials are made available to the students experts
from outside are invariably scrutinized them and if necessary they are edited and modified
